Sad News

Dear Parents and Caregivers

It is with deep sadness that I inform the Craigburn Primary School community of the passing of one of our former teachers, Mr Grant Stevens who had been bravely battling cancer.

In his eleven years as a teacher at Craigburn, Grant developed strong relationships with students, staff and parents. He had a passion for teaching mathematics and drama and was always concerned for the wellbeing of students in his care. When he retired at the end of 2016, Grant shared how much he loved working with students and staff at Craigburn.

Grant’s loss is felt deeply by fellow teachers, as it will be for those students who were taught by and associated with him.

At this time, our heartfelt condolences are for his family and close friends as they grieve for his loss.

This sad news might trigger a need for support by professionals. The following agencies are recommended as experienced in supporting families dealing with grief and loss.
