National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy

NAPLAN results for students in Years 3, 5 and 7 who sat these assessments earlier this year, were sent home today in sealed envelopes, which contain a Student Report and Individual Student Summary.

It is important to note the NAPLAN assessments, taken on one day of the year, are supplementary measures used by teachers and the school, along with other school-based assessments, combine with teacher judgments to determine a child’s progression across the learning areas within the Australian Curriculum.

Having spent some time analysing our school’s results, I am pleased to note the very positive growth that is occurring with students from Years 3 to 5 and Years 5 to 7 in both Reading and Numeracy. In particular, the increased number of students who are achieving medium and upper growth is most pleasing, which has been a focus in our learning improvement plans.

If you wish to discuss your child’s results further, please make a time with his / her teacher.

I will be publishing a more detailed analysis of our results in our Annual Report.
