Acquaintance Night Thanks
Thank you to all families who attended and supported our Acquaintance Evening held two weeks ago. It was rewarding to see so many families visiting our school to meet with our teachers. It was also pleasing to see students proudly acquainting their parents and families with their classes and learning routines. We value strong partnerships between home and school and hope that these connections are further strengthened throughout the school year.
Parent Education Sessions – Mark Le Messurier
Great to see large numbers of families attending the recent Growth and Development sessions on Wednesday evening. Sally from KidzBiz said that this was the largest attendance from all of the schools she has visited.
We are very pleased to announce a series of parent workshops in March, May and June by leading parent coach, mentor and educator, Mark Le Messurier.
The first workshop will be held at school on Wednesday 28th March from 7.00pm to 8.30pm with the focus on: Teaching social and emotional literacy – what is it? An evening to showcase ‘What’s the Buzz?’
The second workshop is scheduled for Wednesday 23rd May on: Setting Up for Success – Dealing with Big Feelings.
The third and final workshop is set for Wednesday 20th June with the title: The Art of Using Emotionally Connecting Language with our Kids – especially in trickier times.
Stay tuned for registration details to Mark’s workshops.
BYO iPad Parent Induction Sessions
We have had a terrific response to the BYO iPad Parent Induction sessions with many parents of students in Years 4-7 attending. Further sessions will be organised upon demand. If interested, please contact Deputy Principal, Rob Warncken. We have updated the program information for 2017 for your reference.
Landscaping Project Update
We are excited to have the landscaping project adjacent to the school car park near completion, which will provide pedestrian access from the two main entrances off Murrays Hill Rd – the school crossing and the water tank entrance. A new bin facility is currently being constructed where we will be able to safely store our waste / recycling bins as well as have easy access to the large industrial waste bins.
Regards, Paul Luke – Principal
