The Finance Committee has recommended to the Governing Council that the Material and Services (M and S) Charge is set at $430 for 2019.
The Materials and Services fee contributes to the cost of providing essential items and services used or consumed by individual students during the course of their learning. This includes printed and electronic materials, access to books, stationery supplies, curriculum materials, printing and copying for use in the educational program, library resources and ICT resources.
After lengthy discussion, the Governing Council established the 2019 fee structure to incorporate all school incursions for 2019. This includes incursions such as Footsteps, Book Week, Sports Expo and Music is Fun. In previous years these incursions have been separately invoiced. This means that in 2019, all students can participate in these valued in-school experiences without the need for separate invoicing and consent forms. The total cost of these incursions in a school year is approximately $30.
We believe that the annual Materials and Services Charge represents terrific value at under $11 per student / school week and remains relatively comparable with other like schools.
The amount and composition of the M and S Charge for 2019 is set out below.
Parents and caregivers are invited to a public meeting to approve the Materials & Services fee for the next school year. This meeting will be held on Monday the 12th November at 7.00pm in the school staff room prior to the Governing Council meeting. In lieu of attendance, parents can express their views in writing to the chairperson prior to the meeting. Any such correspondence will be tabled at the meeting.
