The Weekly Wrap

Last Week

We hope all Craigburn mums, grandmas, nannas, aunties and women who play an important role in your child’s life /  children’s lives enjoyed a special day on Sunday, and were pleasantly surprised with something special from your child / children. Thank you to all the parent helpers who organised and ran the Mothers Day stall last week.

Congratulations to our Cross Country team who competed at Sapsasa Southern Heights Cross Country event at Belair National Park on Friday. Another successful event with over 40 Craigburn students braving the cool weather, running 2.5 and 3km with the support of their peers cheering each other on down the home straight.  Special mention and thank you to James Ralston for training the students over the last few months. Please check out a future post for more details. Special thanks also to our PE teacher, Mrs Pettman for coordinating the team.

On Friday afternoon we farewelled Early Years Teacher, Stephanie Hook with a whole school assembly, where we acknowledged and celebrated Stephanie’s 47 years of service to teaching with the last 9 at Craigburn. Thank you to the students who kindly presented Stephanie with a card and gifts of appreciation.

To Note

Best wishes to all for the week ahead.

Regards, Paul, Rob and Nicky.

Local Parking – Reminders

We would like parents and friends to be extra mindful of the traffic / parking conditions around the school and in particular the cul-de-sac road apron off Murrays Hill Rd adjacent to the nearby housing estate, as marked on the map below.

The areas marked A and B are designated slip-lanes for entry / exit from the cul-de-sac and are not appropriate for parking as they create dangerous blind-spots for vehicles exiting the cul-de-sac on to Murrays Hill Rd.

Similarly, the area marked C on the map is a private community title road allowing only for the width of 2 vehicles. If and when school parents park in this area on both sides, it makes it extremely difficult for residents to navigate out of their own homes.

The Drop Off & Pick Up Zone (off Murrays Hill Rd) displays signage informing motorists that parking in this zone is restricted to 2 minutes only from 2.30pm to 3.30pm. The signage change was implemented by traffic engineers from the City of Onkaparinga in May last year to improve traffic flow and minimise traffic congestion on Murrays Hill Rd prior to school dismissal. Traffic rangers monitor the area without notice. Parents and friends who arrive early for pick up are encouraged to find suitable off-street parking and arrange a location to safely meet their child / children.
