Fancy Pants All Ages Sewing Circle Drop-in

This July, a pioneering music-education program will be undertaken seeing students with multiple disabilities and/or sensory needs from three schools within the Marion area, come together to collaborate across a creative composition project. Working under the creative direction of internationally acclaimed musicians integrating performances by members of the Australian Youth Orchestra’s Momentum Ensemble, students will collectively devise, rehearse and perform a public concert based on the heart-warming South Australian picture book Fancy Pants by Kelly Hibbert and Amanda Graham.

Drop in anytime between 10am & 3pm and join our sewing circle! Bring along a pair of clean new or second hand trousers to fit a 7-18 year old child and ‘upcycle’ them into fancy pants for use during the concert. Choose from a wide range of patches, materials & embellishments to hand sew or glue to your pants and let your imagination run wild! Pants are to be donated to the schools at conclusion of the concert for dress up/role play activities. Tea, coffee & sewing materials provided! This project is being delivered in partnership by Kilparrin Teaching and Assessment School, Connecting the Dots in Music and City of Marion.
