Rainforest Inquiry Unit
In our Inquiry Unit entitled “Rainforests Rule”, we attempted to answer 4 key questions:
1/ What is a rainforest?
2/ Why are rainforests important?
3/ What are the different layers of a rainforest?
4/ What can we do to protect our rainforests?
We gathered all of the information we could find relating to the 4 key questions and used this information to construct a tree of knowledge.
Rainforests Rule!
In small groups, we painted a picture of a rainforest and then researched some different creatures that live in the various layers of the rainforest.
Resident Koala Family
We have been very lucky to have a koala and her baby making their home in the trees just outside our classroom. They don’t seem to mind the noise we make during play time!
Buddy Weaving
For our environmental weaving we needed to collect some natural resources from the school yard.
We also used some creative materials to add to our weavings.
Some of us managed to find some very creative ways to make our weaving experience a fun activity
We were very proud of our final product and can’t wait to display them in the brand new Environmental Learning Centre.
