Blogging Guidelines

Blog Guidelines

Our class blog is a way for us to share our ideas and our learning with other people. Sharing our learning means that it is very important that we understand how to use the blog and the internet in a secure way.
The following guidelines have been established to ensure the safety of our students when blogging. The guidelines are also reminders of how to use the blog to improve writing and keyboarding skills.

• Student work will only be identified by first names. All comments should have first names only.

• Parents who leave comments are asked not to use last names either. (Please post comments as “Jimmy’s mum” or “Megan’s grandfather”, etc.)
• All comments submitted have to be approved by Lisa Sporn before they are included on the blog. Inappropriate or sloppy writing will not be approved.
• Proof-read your comments carefully. Students should have a family member check for spelling mistakes before submitting a comment.

• Only Lisa Sporn has access to post things on the blog. Later in the year, when students begin to write blog entries, they will go through edits and revisions before Lisa posts them.

• Always write in full sentences and words – no “text talk” please!
If you have any other questions or comments about the security of our blog, please contact Lisa Sporn.

  1. I am in Reading in the UK. I have read your blog with interest. In February 2011 I visited Hanah and your school. I like the Picasso heads and Mosaic Art.You are all very creative. I especially like your SIIRO lab on legs visit because I used to teach science. Reading books from all over the world is a really good idea and your book week has given you a chance to find out about lots of interesting books.

  2. I live in High Wycombe in the UK and Hannah’s Great Uncle. (I am her Nan’s brother) This is my first time doing a blog. I appreciated the clear rules for doing this. I was pleased to see that the class have a buddy system which I think is a great idea. We all need a friend when doing new things.
I like the feeling the website of looking out to the world in a safe responsible way.

    Keep up the good work.

  3. I am Sarah’s grandma and I think she is very lucky to have a teacher who can share with us and show us what is happening in the classroom. I love this blog idea.

  4. What a lovely day we had last Friday – Sports Day – great fun for you all, and also parents and grandparents – quite exciting. You were all really good sportspeople.

  5. Hannah’s Nani, Grandad and Mummy are looking at the blog – it looks very interesting and we are looking forward to reading about what Hannah is learning. Good luck to everyone for NAPLAN testing next week!

  6. I am Jamie’s Grandpa.I have been very pleased with Jamies progress at school and he seems to love the learning programme provided. He is an excellent reader and a ‘technological wizard’. I would expect that the ‘blog’ concept will enhance his communication skills

  7. When I was at primary school the playground was just an area covered in bitumen. It had a white line painted down the middle to ensure that the girls stayed on one side and the boys on the other.Craigburn primary has such a fabulous play area.Enjoy the great space children.

  8. I am ‘Nannamaz’ to Jamie and he is one of my grandsons.
He is always so interesting to talk to and he is particularly involved with all things electronic…I look forward to seeing what he eventually chooses as a career .
I think he wil be a very clever computer whiz and may even aspire to be another Bill Gates.

  9. I am very proud of my Grandaughter and sure she will achieve all she sets out to do. I am amazed at the subject content she is learning compared to when I was at school.Very impressed with what I have seen at Craigburn Primary.

  10. Having this blog site is really exciting as we can see what great things you all do each day. When I was at school we had to sit at our desk nearly all day. You are so lucky to do such different activities. They all look like a lot of fun. Keep having fun as you are learning.

  11. Sienna seems to be doing well at school but she is a master squid jagger at Edithburgh. That is a qualification that Craigburn should be proud of.

  12. Hello, this is Maisie’s nana in Norfolk Uk. I have just read the story of bucket filling and think it is a wonderful attitude to develop. It’s good to know I can read all about your class even though we are so far away. I liked looking at the photos of the children with their Mothers day pots. Keep up the good work.
