Thank you all for a positive start to the term. It’s amazing how quickly the weeks fly by. Students are actively engaged in their learning and have settled into their routines – they are especially enjoying learning about and connecting with the Paris Olympics. As we continue through the term, we appreciate families staying connected with school information, activities and events through our weekly posts.

Year 3 Nunyara Camp
Last week’s Year 3 Nunyara Camp was a great success. A sincere thank you to the Year 3 teaching team and parent volunteers whose efforts and commitment ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for every child. Our students had a wonderful time engaging in activities that fostered teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership. We would also like to commend the students for their positive behaviour and cooperation, especially since it was many children’s first overnight experience away from home.
Thank You, Sam
We would like to extend our gratitude to Sam Slattery for her exceptional efforts and dedication in supporting our school over many years, both as a parent volunteer and a school services officer. Sam has also provided invaluable travel support and advice, for which many of us are truly grateful. We also thank Sam for covering on Mondays in Clare’s absence and wish her all the best in her new venture. Thank you, Sam.
Book Week Activities – Artist Workshop
Special thanks to our Library educators Krysten and Emily for hosting an artist workshop with parent Denes Nagy last week. It was a wonderful and engaging opportunity for students. Be sure to check Krysten’s post to families.
Out of School Hours Care
Last Wednesday was ‘National OSHC Educators’ Day’, and we want to recognise the incredible work of our Out of School Hours Care educators at Craigburn. This year’s theme, ‘limitless possibilities,’ reminds us of the many ways our OSHC educators support and enrich our school community. We are grateful for their commitment and hard work in providing a supportive and nurturing service for our students and families. Well done and thank you Kylie and her Team.
Weekend Netball
Year 3/4 Craigburn Blue
Tenison Woods V Craigburn Blue 7-4
We faced Tenison Woods away on this beautiful sunny morning and what an exciting and competitive game it was! The score was level at the end of quarter 3 but were unable to sneak ahead in the last. The performance from the team was outstanding in such a fast paced and challenging game, they came away with so much pride feeling like they had played their best game yet!

Secondary Enrolment Update – Information to Families of Year 6 students
This week, enrolment offers for secondary school will be sent to the families of our year 6 students.
Most families will receive their offer by email on 7th, 8th or 9th August.
If you think you have not received your enrolment offer from your secondary school, you need to check your junk folder for an email from education.noreply@sa.gov.au
If you did not provide an email address on your registration of interest form, you will receive your enrolment offer in the mail or it will be handed to you by your child.
If your enrolment offer has not arrived by 12th August, please let Bron at the Front Office know and we can follow up with the secondary school on your behalf.
If you need support to accept your enrolment offer visit https://www.education.sa.gov.au/parents-and-families/enrol-school-or-preschool/school-enrolment/starting-secondary-school or contact your allocated secondary school and they can step you through the process.
Parent Survey
Parents are invited to complete the 2024 annual Public Education Parent Survey. The 2024 parent survey opens mid to late July and closes midnight Sunday 8 September. During the survey window you will receive an email or SMS from the Parent Survey Team with a unique link to participate in the survey. If you have not received an email or SMS with your unique survey link by Friday 9 August 2024, please check your spam or junk folders. Otherwise, please contact education.ParentSurvey@sa.gov.au and include our school’s name in your email. A new survey will be sent to you.
The survey takes less than 10 minutes and will help us understand:
- what we’re doing well
- where we can improve
- what’s important to you.
It has been coordinated centrally so that added administration workload isn’t placed on the school. Your answers won’t identify you or your child. Only collated feedback will be provided to our school. Information collected will inform school improvement planning and activities at the school. The survey closes midnight Sunday 8 September.
Reception Transition for 2025
Families that have a sibling enrolment for starting Reception at Craigburn in 2025 should have received an offer of enrolment letter also outlining information for transition visits, which will occur over three consecutive Wednesdays on 13th, 20th and 27th of November.
Mid-year intake in schools – In 2024, schools will be introducing a mid-year intake, with children starting reception in Term 1 or Term 3. Term 1 students will complete 4 terms of reception and term 3 students will complete 6 terms of reception. Offers of enrolment will be provided in 2024 – the date still to be confirmed.
