Parent Charity Ride – Run to Red

One of our school parents, Greg Jackson is doing a charity cycling event on Friday 16th March

He is hoping to raise money through Edge Church’s mission called Run to RED (which stands for rescue, empower and deploy) 100% of the money raised gets given away to charities – the church keeps nothing.

He will be riding up Wickhams Hill Rd near McLaren Vale 43 times which equates to about 260 km in distance and 8,848 m in elevation (the same as riding up Mt Everest).  It should take him about 14 hours to complete – from 6am until about 10pm.  Only 2,220 people in the world have successfully completed it.

This immensely painful quest is to support those less fortunate by partnering with organisations including the Childhood Cancer Association, World Vision, Transform Cambodia, Angel House, Clic Sargeant and Charlton House (UK charity for kids with cancer), Long Island Youth Mentoring and the Adelaide Women’s Prison.

He is hoping for people to ride a few laps with him and/or give verbal support and bring a donation to spur him on up the grueling climb. See the website for more info about run to red.

Good luck Greg!
