The Weekly Wrap

To Note 

  • Great to see everyone getting into the spirit of Book Week with dress up day on Friday. Thank you to families for supporting this annual event and to those who were able to join in the assembly celebration. There was certainly an abundance of super powers on show. It is rewarding to see such positive community spirit in these whole school events.
  • This week the Book Fair continues to be open before and after school – Wednesday being the final day. Book Week activities continue into next week with the author visit from Jane Jolly.
  • Well done to the Senior Choir who performed at Magic Millions, Morphettville on Friday – special thanks to Mrs Eland and Mrs Bellette for leading the students.

  • Special mention to Maddy, Ashlyn, Tom and Bradley for their Sapsasa representation – details here.
  • Best Wishes to our Sapsasa Boys Netball team who will compete against St Mary’s (Glenelg) on Tuesday morning at Craigburn for a spot in the State Primary Schools Grand Final.
  • Best wishes and Happy Fathers Day for next Sunday –  to all Craigburn fathers (uncles, grandfathers, brothers etc) who play an important role  in your child’s / children’s lives. We once again thank our Fundraising Team and volunteer parents for organising the annual Father’s Day Stall which is set for Thursday this week – a great opportunity for our young people to purchase a small gift or two for that important person.
  • This week on Thursday we have a team of 10 teaching staff heading to Melbourne as part of a 2 day study tour of Bentleigh West Primary School (Brighton area), who will be showcasing and sharing their literacy practices. Our group will also be accompanied by educators from other SA public and independent schools.
  • On Monday 2nd September (Student Free Day) – our staff will be participating in professional learning in the areas of Dyslexia Awareness and the Department’s Learning Design Assessment and Moderation initiative. 

Friendly Reminders

  • This coming Friday 30th August is a School Closure Day (Royal Adelaide Show) with Monday 2nd September being a student free day. Note, OSHC will not open on Friday, however, will be open on Monday. We understand that during Show Week many families may choose to attend the Show on a day that suits individual circumstances (eg family, weather)
  • Fathers Day Stall is this – Thursday 29th August. Details here.
  • Lost property is continuing to build up again – please check for any items that may have been misplaced.
  • School opens at 8.30am – students should not be unsupervised on school grounds prior to this time.
  • To support our planning for 2020, we would like students / families who will be not at Craigburn in 2020 to contact the school via phone 8270 4144 or email This does not include any current Year 7 students. Thank you.
  • 2020 Reception Enrolments / Transition – Families that have a sibling enrolment for 2020 will receive a transition letter soon, outlining information for transition visits, which will occur over three consecutive Wednesdays 13th, 20th and 27th of November.
