The Weekly Wrap – Term 3 Week 10 – 2020

Thank you for taking time to read through this week’s weekly wrap and to keep up to date with school happenings.

End of Term

It’s hard to believe another school term has almost passed. We have really appreciated your ongoing understanding and support in relation to school-based COVID-19 restrictions.  As we move forward into Term 4, current restrictions remain in place and will impact on whole school community events such as Book Week, Sports Day, Celebration Night and Year 7 Graduation. We will endeavour to make the best of the ongoing COVID-19 situation as we plan for these events. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Thank you to all parents and carers who have supported after-hours school sports over the last term in soccer, netball and basketball. Special thanks to all coordinators, coaches and team managers. We trust all students and families have enjoyed these sports programs.

Well done to all students who have participated in this year’s Premier’s ‘Reading and Be Active’ Challenges, which end this term. Results are being entered into the department’s databases. We expect to receive awards, certificates and medals in mid-November. Thank you to Jane (Library SSO), Karen Pettman (PE) and Chelsee (Admin SSO) for their support.

We are excited to commence the Hall / Gym Floor project in the school holidays. The first task will involve external works in the area adjacent to the gym near the bike racks. This will impact on the entry to the OSHC service during the vacation period, with temporary access via the roller door and main gym entrance. The flooring upgrade is set to begin in mid-late Term 4.

A ‘shout out’ to all teachers and support staff for their efforts over the last ten weeks. They continue to work tirelessly in the best interests of all Craigburn students and families. We wish them all a relaxing break, although no doubt, many hours will be spent in preparation for Term 4 and professional development activities.

We would also like to wish all students and families a safe and enjoyable two-week break – especially if travelling away over the October long weekend.

Kind regards – Paul, Rob and Nicky.
