Book Week – Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds

Book Week is not far away.

Book Week celebrations will begin August 21st and continue through to August 27th.

The theme for this year’s Book week is OLD WORLDS, NEW WORLDS, OTHER WORLDS. Our Book Week Assembly and Dress-up Day will be held on  Friday August 27th.

Have you started to think about a costume? Here are some great ideas from Your Local Families Magazine.

Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the library from Thursday 26th August  (Week 6) – Tuesday 31st August (Week 7). We look forward to you visiting us on one of these days with your child’s wish list.

Book Week Performance

On Wednesday September 1st we have booked ‘Perform Education’ for our whole school incursion. They will entertain us with their interactive and educational musical adventure “Bigger, Better Brighter” which brings together all the elements of great storytelling – a hero, a mystery, a quest, and an exploration! There will be 2 separate shows at 9.30am and 11.30am.

The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) has announced their shortlisted books for 2021 and many of these will be shared with students over the first half of Term 3. Check out the shortlist below.

Congratulations to Miss Manna who has recently become a published illustrator of the book BJ Blurty Bot Loves Life on the Farm.
