OSHC Vacation Care – COVID Update

Dear Families,

With Vacation Care resuming on Monday 10 January, we would like to provide an update to our service, given the current COVID situation.

First and foremost, our focus is on providing a healthy and safe environment for children and staff. As such, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of excursion days for this Vacation Care period. All bookings for the below dates will be transferred to school-based days, the daily fee being $60.00

  • Wednesday 12 January – Latitude
  • Thursday 13 January- Event Cinemas
  • Wednesday 19 January –Marion Outdoor Pool
  • Thursday 20 January – Adelaide Youth Theatre
  • Tuesday 25 January – Big Wedgie
  • Thursday 27 January – Rec-Yr 3 Plaster Funhouse

On these days our service will be school-based where we will provide an alternative program for the children that is sure to be engaging and fun.

Due to the ongoing COVID situation, we ask that parents/caregivers continue to wear a mask at drop off and collection of their children, as will OSHC staff. Please note, masks are optional for children under 12 years of age.  We will be restricting access to the OSHC building and will be asking parents to sign children in and out, outside of the OSHC entrance, with only children and OSHC staff to enter the building. During peak drop off and collection times a staff member will be on hand to assist and/or answer questions. Outside of these times, you will be able to ring the doorbell to have a staff member attend for drop off or collection of your child/ren. Children and staff will be required to regularly wash and sanitise their hands throughout the day.

If your child is feeling unwell or had any COVID type symptoms in the past 2 days please refrain from bringing them to OSHC. If your child develops any of these symptoms whilst in care, they will be isolated and you will be required to collect them immediately. Similarly, children will not be able to attend if any family members are in isolation due to COVID.

We will still be operating as per normal unless directed otherwise, therefore will continue to follow the regular Vacation Care cancellation policy. If you have been directed by SA Health to isolate, you must provide us with the documentation you have received from them and then no charge will be applied. Please supply this via text message on 0427 271 768 or to cps.oshc820@schools.sa.edu.au

We understand that there have been many changes that have come into effect over the past few weeks. As we re-open on Monday from 7:00am, we will endeavour to respond to all emails and messages as soon as possible. If our service receives the notification of a positive COVID case, we will be following the directions of SA Health and the Department for Education and using the COVID-19 – Confirmed Case Temporary Closure Protocol.

If you have any questions or would like further clarification regarding Vacation Care, kindly call our service mobile on: 0427 271 768

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 10 January.

Kind regards,
