This year’s Sports Day will be held on Friday 4th November – Term 4 Week 3.
All new students to the school will be placed in a Sports Day team being Bradman (Blue), Fraser (Green), Riley (Red) or Woodforde (Yellow).
Sports Day Captains
Year 6 students have the opportunity to nominate for Sports Day Captains for each house team.
Four House Captains from each team will be selected to form the Sports Day Leadership group to work together to choreograph a health hustle, organise chants, run team meetings and assist with the promotion and set up of Sports Day.
Last Friday, we talked with the Year 6 students about the application and nomination process to become a Sports Day Captain.
Interested students have received an application form detailing the criteria which they will need to address in a speech to their house teams. House teams will vote against the criteria to select our 16 House Captains. The Year 6 class teachers are currently working with their students to discuss the school values, qualities and skills for the role of a Sports Day House Captain.
During Week 6, the students who have nominated will meet individually with our Specialist PE Teacher, Karen Pettman, to check in and discuss the role of a Sports Day Captain. On Thursday of Week 7 they will present their speech to the Year 3-7 students, who will vote for their Captains.
We are here to support the students applying to be a Sports Day Captain and know they will lead their team and school to a successful and fun Sports Day.
Sprint Run Offs
In Week 8, on Tuesday 13th September we will hold sprint run offs for the Year 3 – 6 students for the sprints and relay championships which takes place in the afternoon of Sports Day.

Further information on Sports Day will be available next term.
