Acquaintance Evening – Monday 13 February – 2023

We invite all families to join us for our upcoming Acquaintance Evening on Monday 13 February, from 5.30 to 7.00pm.

We highly value the community culture we have at Craigburn and the relationships formed between home and school.

Acquaintance Evening is an opportunity for students, teachers and families to establish these important relationships at the beginning of the school year.

It is important for each student to actively participate in the evening and share their ‘learning voice’, where they will have a lead role in acquainting you (as parents) with their learning environment for 2023 and of course, to meet with their teachers.

In preparing for and participating in the evening, teachers will be assisting students to develop and practise skills in communication, organisation, problem solving, critical and creative thinking and self-confidence.

You will also have the chance to meet with specialist teachers in Physical Education, Performing Arts, German, Science / Technology and Environmental Learning (school garden). These specialist areas are an integral part of the school experience at Craigburn and we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to meet our specialist educators and learn more about their programs.

Acquaintance Evening also provides the opportunity for families to mingle and get to know each other. A sausage sizzle (gluten free / vegetarian snags available) and drinks run by the leadership team and members of the Friends of Craigburn (parent and community engagement) will be available from 5.00pm with classrooms open between 5.30pm and 7.00pm.

Acquaintance evening is an important part of our commitment to building strong partnerships with our families, and we hope that you will be able to join us.

Kind regards

Paul
