Southern Heights Sapsasa Swimming Carnival

The Southern Heights District Sapsasa Swimming Carnival, is scheduled for Wednesday 1st March (Week 5,) at the Marion Outdoor Swimming Pool from 9.30am – 12.30pm.

The purpose of this event is to select a District Team to compete at the State Metropolitan Swimming Carnival on Thursday 4th May (Term 2, Week 1) at the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Marion. Participation at this event will assume that swimmers are available to compete at the State Championship Day.

Students must be turning 10 this year and up to 12 years of age to enter. There are 50m events for 10 yr old (2013), 11yr old (2012) and 12yr old (2011) girls and boys in freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly and a 100m freestyle event in open age. To nominate to enter, students should be swimming regularly, be very competent swimmers at 50m or 100m with correct stroke and breathing and be able to dive in from a starting block.

Interested students have received information and a nomination form which needs to be returned to school by Friday 17th February. Nominations will then be collated and a team selected to represent Craigburn.

If you wish your child to participate, parents are to be responsible for transporting, supervising and supporting their child at the event.
