Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition

A fabulous opportunity is open for South Australian students to share their films on the big screen as part of the internationally acclaimed Adelaide Film Festival, 18 – 29 October 2023.

This is an optional, extra-curricular activity for any budding film-makers at Craigburn Primary that want to show off their film-making talents.

All films must be for children and young people. Films can be in any genre: drama, comedy, fantasy, animation, musical, documentary and more. Films made by filmmakers aged 5-to-12 year old are eligible for the Primary School category. Entries can be made by individual students, a group of students, or a class of students from South Australia.

Works must show a good grasp of storytelling and a developing technique.

There is an entry fee of $10 per film. Nominated films will screen during this year’s film festival, with winners announced at a high-profile red carpet screening event, with a prize of $500 for the winners.

The closing date for submissions is 11.30pm, Friday 1 September 2023.

More information can be found here.

I would be willing to help any interested students with preparation and organisation, but cannot help in the film-making process.

I will be holding an information session in the Performing Arts room during Thursday lunch time, week 2 for any interested students.
