School Disco Thanks

A huge thank you to all the wonderful parent volunteers and staff who joined in the fun and helped supervise the disco on Friday evening!  The evening was a fantastic success, with everyone enjoying the dances and songs. It was great to see many of our students embracing the ‘favourite colour’ theme by wearing their vibrant colour fun shirts.

End of Year Reports

At this time of the term, teachers are writing end of year student reports. As part of the reporting process, teachers work with year level team colleagues to moderate and discuss student assessments to ensure consistency of teacher judgement when reporting A-E grades (Years 1 -6) for subject areas within the Australian Curriculum. Reports will be handed out on Wednesday 13 December.

New Cricket Wicket Installation

The work for the installation of a new synthetic cricket wicket will begin on Monday 20th November on the school oval. This will involve the excavation and removal of the existing wicket, with the new wicket to be better realigned with the dimensions of the oval to meet SACA specifications. We ask students to keep well clear of this area throughout the installation.

Hot Weather

Last Friday’s hot weather looks certain to be repeated before the end of the year. On these days, it is important that students remember to:

  • apply sunscreen before leaving home and pack extra (named) sunscreen for school
  • have their sunsmart school hat
  • have a full water bottle

If and when the weather reaches 35 degrees Celsius or over – students are kept indoors at recess / lunch breaks.

We look forward to the Jam Band performing at Craigburn in just over a week away on Thursday 23 November.

The Just Add Music Band is a group of passionate Adelaide musicians providing a fun, entertaining, interactive and educational children’s show. They aim to inspire students and help develop confidence and self-esteem through student engagement and interaction.

The JAM Band members have over 50 years of collective experience in children’s entertainment! They perform 10+ songs consisting of current well-known songs as well as classics for the young at heart! Each song is presented in a creative and vibrant way helping to bring the songs to life. Students are encouraged to get up and dance at various points throughout the show.
