This year Craigburn Primary School entered the Commissioner’s Digital Challenge for the third time.
Similar to the Premier’s Be Active Challenge and the Premier’s Reading Challenge, this challenge encourages our young people to engage in a variety of digital thinking tasks and is open to South Australian students.
As part of this challenge our Reception to Year 2 students developed their early coding skills through one of our favourite coding apps, Kodable. Some also experimented with the BlueBots. The Year 3 – 6 students problem-solved their way through a range of digital challenges via platforms like Grok Academy, Scratch, code.org and more.
This year we entered all three competitions: Learn to Speak Robot, Zoom Out and Space to Dream.
We are very proud that we have once again been awarded a top prize.
This year we came in 2nd place for the Learn to Speak Robot/Zoom Out categories. We will be receiving a robotics kit donated by VEK Robotics. This is a huge achievement!
Furthermore, we had two students, Piper S and Ayla C, whose designs were chosen by the Commissioner as ‘Top Rated’ designs! Their 2D designs will feature in the Space to Dream Travelling Exhibition which will be on display at the Australian Space Discovery Centre throughout December 2023 and January 2024 and travelling to local libraries around South Australia in 2025.
Congratulations to all of our Craigburn students who participated in the 2024 Commissioner’s Digital Challenge and we look forward to expanding our digital technology skills in the Commissioner’s Digital Challenge again next year!
