Congratulations Ayla and Piper.

A big congratulations to our school’s Digital Challenge Coordinator, Carly Smith, whose dedication has been instrumental in bringing this opportunity to students.
This year marked the sixth successful year of the Commissioner’s Digital Challenge, with 190 South Australian schools participating. Helen Connolly, Commissioner for Children and Young People, commends Craigburn Primary for its role in fostering inclusive digital opportunities for children and young people.
Well done, Craigburn!
Craigburn Recognised as a High Achieving Be Active School
We’re thrilled to share that Craigburn has once again been selected as one of the 50 High Achieving Premier’s Be Active Challenge Schools for 2024! This fantastic recognition highlights Karen’s (Pettman) outstanding dedication to promoting physical activity within our school community, supported by our staff and parents.
As part of this achievement, Karen will accompany our Be Active Leaders to the Premier’s Be Active Challenge Reception, hosted by the Minister, to receive our award.
It was rewarding to see so many students proudly wearing their medals leaving school on Friday afternoon.
Congratulations to Karen and everyone involved—what a proud moment for Craigburn!
Lest We Forget
Last Monday, on Remembrance Day, our school community came together to honour the brave men and women who served in the military to protect our country. Students solemnly observed a minute of silence as a gesture of respect and gratitude for their sacrifices.
A special thank you to Sanya and Taylor for presenting the assembly and to Jesse and Nieve for reading the Pledge of Remembrance so beautifully.
Lest we forget.
Celebration Night – 2024
We are very much looking forward to hosting our annual Craigburn Celebration Night on Monday 9th December.
Celebration NIght is about celebrating the end of the school year through song and dance performances and an opportunity to acknowledge and thank our students, staff and parent community for their efforts and support throughout the year. The school choir will be leading the singing of a number of Christmas carols as part of the evening’s festivities. We will also be acknowledging staff who are leaving, drawing prizes for our Christmas raffle and farewelling and extending our best wishes to graduating year 6 students and families.
Please take a moment to check in with the full details here.
We are also grateful for our Friends of Craigburn team who have kindly organising some food / drink options and the popular celebration wrapper chocolates – full details here.

Friendly Reminders
Remaining Student Free Day – Monday 25 November
A reminder that our remaining student free day for 2024 is in Term 4 Week 7 on Monday 25 November, endorsed by our Governing Council earlier this year. OSHC will be available for bookings.
Last Day of the School Year – Friday 13 December – Early Dismissal – 2.10pm
As per the department’s policy regarding early dismissals, schools are only able to dismiss students up to one hour prior to normal dismissal. This means that on our last school day of the year, Friday 13 December, students will be dismissed at 2.10pm.
Last Week’s Wrap – M and S Polling Letter
If needed, please check in with last week’s wrap which included information re Material and Services Charges – Polling Letter, which families should have received. Noting, school fees have been set at the same charge as last year with the SA Government introducing a $200 rebate. Thank you to families who have returned the letter.
Sun Safe / School Hats
As the UV index now reaches above 3 on most days, it is important that students:
- apply sunscreen before leaving home and pack extra (named) sunscreen for school
- have their sunsmart school hat with them. Students must wear a navy blue school hat (broad brimmed or legionnaire style) when outside in the yard at play times and outdoor lessons. Hats can be purchased via the Finance Office. Students who do not have a hat are asked to play in a shaded area of the school during play times.
Lost Property
Please come into school and check the lost property tubs near the second hand uniform shop. They are overflowing with jumpers, hats, lunchboxes and drink bottles.
