This week our Year 3-5 students have been learning how to talk about foods they like and dislike. They have learnt sentences such as:

• Das ist lecker! / Das ist nicht lecker
• Das schmeckt gut! / Das schmeckt nicht gut
• Brot ist lecker! / Brot ist nicht lecker

Students have also been encouraged to mix and match phrases and add in other German words they know, like ‘ja’ and ‘nein.’

To help learn the new phrases, students are creating comic-like dialogues! They have been given blank faces and speech bubbles and need to give the characters a personality and have them tell the other person their food likes or dislikes.

I think we’ll have some fantastic finished products!
