Sneak peek!

We have been busy creating ‘Wie ist das Wetter?’ class big books in German! Each student has created a page and they will be compiled into one book that will then live in their classroom.

However, we’ve also been using an app called ‘Book Creator’ to take a photo of our pages and then record ourselves reading the sentence! These will then be compiled to become an online book.

How exciting – two different forms of the same book! Stay tuned for final products.

Danke Haidyn

I was very pleased to be given this lovely message written in German by a very clever reception student, Haidyn.

Haidyn used our German blog and the weather video we shared and wrote this wonderful page of German, telling me when his birthday is and which season it is in when in Australia.

You are so clever, Haidyn!

Wie ist das Wetter?

Our reception students have been very clever this week! They have been creating weather wheels in German.

The children had to colour their wheels in and then copy the German weather words onto their wheels: regnet, sonnig, windig, bewoelkt, stuermisch und schneit.

Frau Smith then helped to attach an arrow with a split pin and the wheels were complete!

Mathematik in German!

This week our Year 1 and 2 students have been using a little bit of Mathematik in their German lessons!

We have made a weather cube and on each side it had a sentence about the weather – es ist sonnig, es regnet, etc.

In small groups the students took turns rolling their cubes and recorded the result in their books – using a tally! Frau Smith was very impressed about how much the students knew about tallies already.

It was interesting to see that each group rolled a different weather type the most!
