Assembly Awards

Today we had our first Year 2, 3 and 4 assembly for 2017. Mr Hanna’s Year 4 class were wonderful hosts and showed great persistence to present the assembly (there were quite a few technical issues!).

Our class did a great job sharing the rubber thong art activity from a couple of weeks ago.

Here’s a clip of the class sharing our item. A huge thanks to Jesse and Cooper who were brave enough to introduce our item to the whole group. (Sorry for the blurry start to the clip).

Congratulations to Emma, Jay, Cooper, Riley and Kate for receiving their first assembly awards.

Please check our our thong art in the school’s Front Office next time you’re visiting.

Assembly

Yesterday we went to the Year 1/2/3/4 assembly. It was an entertaining assembly, hosted by Ms Humphrys class – we thought they did a great job running the assembly so smoothly.
Our class shared the 3D newspaper models that we’d made as a part of our current Inquiry unit. The challenge was to make a strong and stable 3D structure. At the assembly we showed boats, ships, bridges, prison gates, teepees, triangular prisms, bus shelters and “random” structures. Ethan did a really good job introducing our item and explaining about triangulation – how and why triangles are used in structures because they are the strongest shape.
We’d like to congratulate George, Holly W, Holly B and Liam on receiving their assembly awards.

Here are some photos from the assembly.

Year 2/ 3/ 4 Assembly

On Tuesday the Year 2/ 3/ 4 classes had the first assembly for 2013. Mrs Freebairn’s class hosted the assembly and we thought they did a great job running the assembly very smoothly. Some classes showed their learning and Ms Terrell presented the assembly awards. Congratulations to Ben, Spencer, Tara and Soomin on receiving their awards.

What did you think of our first assembly for the year?

Our First Assembly

Today we we went to the first assembly of the year. It was an assembly for the whole school and Mr Luke hosted it. Mr Luke explained where it’s safe to play and our  responsibilities for keeping the yard clean and tidy. He introduced Ms Terrell, our new Principal. Ms Terrell was the Principal at Dernancourt Primary School and will be at our school for the next 7 years. We loved meeting Ms Terrell!
