What a  fantastic camp we had. Everyone had a fantastic time. Thank you to our amazing parents for their support on camp.

This week on Wednesday and Thursday we will be taking part in the Imagination Foundation ‘ Global Cardboard Challenge’. This is an annual event to celebrate child creativity. The event is due to take place on October 7th ( our school holiday), but encourages communities to create anything they can think of using cardboard throughout the month of September. We have been designing already, so prepare yourself for lots of hunting and nagging for cardboard boxes and recycled materials! Our theme is ‘games’. What a fantastic opportunity to use our STEM skills. I can’t wait to see the finished products. You are very welcome to come and visit our classroom on Wednesday and Thursday after school to see our work in progress.

Today is R U Ok? Day. We talked about checking that our friends are ok and encouraging them to take action by speaking to an adult. We also discussed checking back in with them. We made hats, badges and wrist bands to show people about the day.

Well done to  Elsie and Maverick who are our SRC reps for Semester 1.

Well done to all my students who showed their family around our classroom last night. You did an excellent job. Lovely to see so many faces and great to meet you all.

Just a couple of reminders for the week ahead:

Tomorrow night come along to Acquaintance Night as a family. Your child would like to show you around our classroom. Classrooms open at 6:00pm. Why not come along to our sausage sizzle first from 5:30pm. I look forward to seeing you all.

On Thursday we will be watching the circus performance and will also take part in a circus workshop. Photos to follow!

We have had a fantastic day together on our first day of the school year.

We played some games and began to learn more about one another.

We discussed what we want our classroom to be like thinking about our class mission statement. We are going to make a tree tomorrow which will show our agreement – including being kind, thoughtful, doing our best and setting goals, looking after our classroom and the equipment, listening to others and many more.

We also had this beautiful creature on our outside blinds.

A great day- I am looking forward to tomorrow.
