SRC Leaders Day Training – 2025

As part of their role as SRC Leaders for 2025, students participated in a special training day on Friday, 7th March, facilitated by the SRC Executive Leaders. The purpose of this day was to equip students with the essential skills and qualities needed to be effective leaders throughout the year.

The day kicked off with an introductory activity aimed at helping students get to know each other. Building strong connections was a key focus, ensuring that all leaders could collaborate successfully as a team.

In small, mixed-age groups, students explored the qualities that define great leaders. They discussed and identified key attributes such as empathy, vision, respect, kindness, inclusiveness, motivation, and inspiration. These qualities form the foundation of strong leadership and will guide students in their roles throughout the year.

Additionally, the SRC leaders learned about the significance of teamwork, collaboration, problem-solving, and effective communication. To put these skills into practice, they took part in a hands-on activity called The Bean Bag Challenge, where they had to collect scattered bean bags while only stepping in three designated hoops. This activity encouraged strategic thinking, cooperation, and adaptability—crucial skills for any leader.

Before wrapping up the day, Year 1-6 SRC leaders gathered for a final debrief, reflecting on their experiences and insights. They celebrated their efforts with a well-earned Zooper Dooper, marking the end of a productive and inspiring training session.

With a solid foundation in leadership, our 2025 SRC Leaders are ready to take on the year ahead with confidence and enthusiasm!
