To Note
NAPLAN – Years 3 and 5
NAPLAN tests continue this week with the Numeracy test on Monday. Catch up tests will be held on Tuesday for students who were absent last week.
Sports Day – Key Speaker
We are the Year 6 Be Active Leaders of 2025, and we’re excited to announce that our School Sports Day will be held on Friday, 4th April (Week 10).
As part of the event, we’re looking for anyone who currently plays or has previously played a sport to share their sporting journey and offer insights on living a healthy lifestyle. This would involve a short 15-minute talk to inspire our students.
If you know someone who would be interested, please contact our specialist sports teacher, Karen Petman, at Karen.pettman675@schools.sa.edu.au
Thank you for your support. – Year 6 Be Active Leaders
Friendly Reminders
Swimming Weeks
Details regarding Swimming Week for students in Years 3-5 have been emailed to families and can be found here.
Swimming Week for students in Reception to Year 2 is scheduled for the first week of Term 2.
Student-Led Conferences – Now in Term 3
We would like to share that our annual Student-Led Conferences will take place in early Term 3, rather than late Term 1.
This shift allows students to engage in meaningful reflection midway through the year, providing a more comprehensive insight into their progress, achievements, and future learning goals.
By moving the conferences to Term 3, both students and teachers will benefit:
- Students will have more learning experiences to reflect on and share with families.
- Teachers will have deeper insights into student progress and achievement, allowing for more meaningful discussions.
- Students will gain greater confidence in self-evaluating their strengths and areas for growth.
- Learning goals set during the conferences will be more informed and relevant for the remainder of the year.
These conferences, guided by teachers, are an invaluable opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning journey, while parents and caregivers can ask questions and celebrate their child’s achievements. As in previous years, we will use School Interviews to streamline the booking process. Online bookings will open towards the end of Term 2, allowing families plenty of time to select a convenient time.
If you have any concerns or would like to discuss your child’s learning before the conferences, you are always welcome to contact their teacher.
We look forward to these valuable conversations and appreciate your support in fostering student agency in learning.
