The Weekly Wrap – Term 3 Week 7 – 2025

We are excited to be celebrating Father’s Day this week, with our annual Father’s Day Gift Stall on Wednesday, with students visiting in buddy classes to choose a gift.

On Friday, Craigburn dads, grandads, special people and family members are warmly invited to join us for our Father’s Day Breakfast, hosted by the Friends of Craigburn team. Come along, enjoy a coffee from the Daily Grind, and share the morning with our school community. Pre-ordered danishes can be purchased via Qkr!.

We recognise that Father’s Day can look different for every family. To help all children feel included, we also encourage the use of language such as ‘special person’ or ‘family member.’  Thank you for helping us make this a positive and inclusive experience for everyone.

Great News for Craigburn – Traffic Safety Improvements on Murrays Hill Road

We are very pleased to share some great news for our school community. After many years of raising concerns about traffic and safety along Murrays Hill Road, the City of Onkaparinga is now planning important improvements right outside Craigburn Primary School.

The proposal is to install a series of traffic calming devices at four locations to help reduce the speed of vehicles travelling along Murrays Hill Road, as shown in the enclosed plan.

The project is currently scheduled for delivery in the 2025–26 financial year, with funding anticipated through the Black Spot Program. While a grant application has been submitted, the timing and delivery of the project will depend on the outcome of that application. If the grant is not successful, the project is expected to proceed in the 2026–27 financial year using the council’s Project and Capital Works budget, subject to budget endorsement.

As a key stakeholder, the council would like to hear about any local knowledge or concerns you may have to inform their design.

Congratulations to our Year 6 Students!

Well done to Victoria, Haddie, Eloise and Gillian for their wonderful creation Spiro entered in this year’s Royal Adelaide Show Scarecrow Competition.

If you’re visiting the Show this week, be sure to stop by the Scarecrow display and cast your vote for Spiro in the People’s Choice Award!

A special thanks to Emily for her creativity and guidance in supporting the students from design through to display.
