Acknowledging PE Week at Craigburn
A huge thank you to Karen Pettman for her outstanding coordination of PE Week, and to our Year 6 Be Active Leaders for planning and running such a fun, engaging program. Students thoroughly enjoyed the themed days — Movement Monday, Try Something New Tuesday, Wellbeing Wednesday, Target Thursday, and Fabulous Friday!
It was fantastic to see everyone embracing physical activity, teamwork, and school spirit. Well done to all involved for promoting the importance of health and physical education in our learning community. Read more here.
Celebration Night – Monday 8th December
We are very much looking forward to hosting our annual Craigburn Celebration Night on Monday 8th December.
Celebration Night is about celebrating the end of the school year through song and dance performances and an opportunity to acknowledge and thank our students, staff and parent community for their efforts and support throughout the year. The school choir will be leading the singing of a number of Christmas carols as part of the evening’s festivities. We will also be acknowledging staff who are leaving, drawing prizes for our traditional Christmas raffle as well as farewelling and extending our best wishes to graduating year 6 students and families.
Please take a moment to check in with the full details here.
We are also grateful for our Friends of Craigburn team who have kindly organised food / drink options for the night – full details here.

Friendly Reminders
Student Free Day – Monday 24 November
A reminder that our remaining student free day for 2025 is next Monday 24 November, endorsed by our Governing Council earlier this year. On this day, school staff will be undertaking an analysis of a range of student learning data to inform future curriculum planning and learning for next year. OSHC will be available for bookings.
Last Day of the School Year – Friday 12 December – Early Dismissal – 2.10pm
As per the department’s policy regarding early dismissals, schools are only able to dismiss students up to one hour prior to normal dismissal. This means that on our last school day of the year, Friday 12 December, students will be dismissed at 2.10pm.
End of Year Reports
At this time of the term, teachers are writing end of year student reports. As part of the reporting process, teachers work with year level team colleagues to moderate and discuss student assessments to ensure consistency of teacher judgement when reporting A-E grades (Years 1 -6) for subject areas within the Australian Curriculum. Reports will be handed out on Wednesday 11 December.
Class Placement for 2026
As shared previously, we have begun the class placement process in preparation for the new school year. The class placement process is a complex and time-consuming one, involving multiple factors. Students will be informed of their class placement on Wednesday 10 December, when they visit their new class for 2026 after Recess. On the same day, parents / carers will be informed via a class placement letter along with their child’s end of year report.
Friends of Craigburn – Lucky Square
Lucky Square $10.00 per ticket. Limited to 300 tickets so be quick before they all sell out. Epic prizes to be won.
Bushfire Response Plan
Please take time to read through our Bushfire Response Plan for 2025/26, which forms part of our local emergency management procedures.
The bushfire response plan ensures what action we need to take on days of increased fire danger or in the event of a potential or actual bushfire threat. The bushfire response plan also assists the Department’s Security and Emergency Management (SEM) unit in providing emergency services key information regarding the location of students and staff during a bushfire emergency. Read more here.
Library Cover and Connect
All welcome – last date for the year:
- Week 7 – Friday 28th November
Each session will run from 9:00 – 10:00am in the library. New volunteers are always welcome, and we’ll happily give you a quick demonstration of how we like to cover books before you get started. Thank you again for supporting our library and helping get more books into the hands of our students.
Planning for 2026
Planning is underway for the 2026 school year, which includes organising staffing, class structures and placements. If this is the case, please contact the school via phone 8270 4144 or email dl.1226.admin@schools.sa.edu.au This does not include any current Year 6 students. Thank you.
