Introducing EdSmart – A Simpler Way to Stay Connected
We’re excited to introduce EdSmart, a new online platform that makes communication between school and families easier and more efficient.
With EdSmart, you’ll receive important school notices, permission forms, and updates directly to your email. No more lost paper forms—everything is digital and easy to access from your phone, tablet, or computer.
How It Works:
✅You’ll receive an email with a link to a secure online form.
✅Simply click the link, fill out the form, and submit it.
✅ All information is stored securely and only accessible by authorized school staff.
We’ll be using EdSmart for excursion permissions, school notices, absence notifications, and more—helping us save time, reduce paper use, and keep communication clear.
Look out for your first EdSmart email soon! If you have any questions, visit EdSmart for Parents or contact the front office.
Help Us Rebuild the Buddy Bench – Calling for a Parent Volunteer
Hannah and Emilie from our Year 6 Media and Communications Leadership Team have an important request on behalf of M. Grant and the Environmental Community Group.
We need a parent volunteer (preferably a carpenter) to help fix and rebuild our Buddy Bench. Right now, the bench has a large chunk of wood missing, is wobbly, and has loose screws—it needs some TLC!
The Buddy Bench plays an important role at Craigburn, providing a space where students who need a friend to play with can sit and be invited to join in.
Once repaired, we’ll be painting it with a garden theme and sharing the finished project on the school blog and notices. The restored bench will then be placed in Mr. Spurr’s garden near the entrance retaining wall.
If you can help, please get in touch!
Thanks in advance for your support! 🌿💚

Student-Led Conferences – Now in Early Term 3
We would like to share that our annual Student-Led Conferences will take place in early Term 3, rather than late Term 1.
This shift allows students to engage in meaningful reflection midway through the year, providing a more comprehensive insight into their progress, achievements, and future learning goals.
By moving the conferences to Term 3, both students and teachers will benefit:
- Students will have more learning experiences to reflect on and share with families.
- Teachers will have deeper insights into student progress and achievement, allowing for more meaningful discussions.
- Students will gain greater confidence in self-evaluating their strengths and areas for growth.
- Learning goals set during the conferences will be more informed and relevant for the remainder of the year.
These conferences, guided by teachers, are an invaluable opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning journey, while parents and caregivers can ask questions and celebrate their child’s achievements.
As in previous years, we will use School Interviews to streamline the booking process. Online bookings will open towards the end of Term 2, allowing families plenty of time to select a convenient time.
If you have any concerns or would like to discuss your child’s learning before the conferences, you are always welcome to contact their teacher.
We look forward to these valuable conversations and appreciate your support in fostering student agency in learning.
