Southern Heights Representatives
Cross Country: Well done to Olivia H and Zahara H for their outstanding efforts at the State Cross Country Championships, held at Oakbank Racecourse. With hundreds of students competing in each race, both girls demonstrated determination and resilience on a very big day. A special congratulations to Olivia, who finished an impressive 8th out of 175 runners – an incredible result!
Netball: Congratulations to Dinu G and Piper S, who have been selected to represent Southern Heights in the upcoming State Netball Championships next week. This is a fantastic achievement, and we’re proud to see their hard work, skill, and dedication recognised. We wish them all the best as they take on this exciting opportunity!
Soccer Day Carnival: In perfect weather on Thursday, our boys Sapsasa soccer team took to the pitch for the first round of the Statewide Schools Competition. The team competed in a day-long carnival, playing four challenging matches against strong opposition. Despite the tough competition, the boys showed determination and skill, securing a convincing 5–0 win in one of their games. The team found the back of the net multiple times throughout the day, with goals shared among several players — a true team effort! The boys displayed outstanding teamwork, respect towards opponents and referees, and high levels of enthusiasm all day. They should be very proud of the way they represented our school.
A huge thank you to parent Travis for his time and commitment in coaching the team, and to Simon and Emma for assisting with transport. Your support made the day possible and greatly appreciated.
