Welcome Back – Term 3, 2025
As we return from the mid-year break, we would like to thank everyone in our school community for your ongoing support and engagement throughout the first half of the 2025 school year.
We hope you had a safe and restful holiday with your children and are feeling refreshed for the second half of the year. A special thank you to the many families who continue to support our school through volunteering—your time and contributions are greatly appreciated.
We’re excited for the term ahead and the many opportunities it brings for our students to learn and grow. With a range of events, activities, and learning experiences planned, Term 3 promises to be a busy and rewarding time.
We look forward to sharing a positive and productive Term 3 with you all.

Reminder: Student-Led Conferences – Bookings Closing Soon
This is a reminder that bookings are open for our upcoming Student-Led Conferences, taking place in Week 2 of Term 3 (Monday 28 July – Monday 4 August). As shared in our previous communication, these conferences provide students with the opportunity to lead a conversation about their learning, with support from their teacher/s. Students will share selected work and reflect on their achievements, challenges, and goals from the first half of the year.
Bookings can be made via the School Interviews platform at:
https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/code/hccqv
Conference sessions are strictly 15 minutes in duration. If you need more time or are unable to attend during the available slots, please contact your child’s teacher directly to make alternative arrangements.
Bookings close at 6.00pm on Friday 25 July, so please book soon to secure your preferred time. Thank you once again for your support.
Student Use of Mobile Phones and Personal Devices
As part of our commitment to supporting safe and focused learning environments, we remind families that Craigburn Primary School follows the Department for Education’s “Off and Away” policy for student mobile phones and personal devices. Key points:
- Personal devices, including mobile phones and smartwatches, must be kept off and away during school hours, including recess and lunch.
- Students may bring personal devices to school for safety while travelling to and from school.
- Devices must be switched off or in flight mode and stored in school bags throughout the day.
- Alternatively, students may choose to hand in devices at the front office each morning and collect them after school.
- Messages and contact during the day should be made via the school front office, not directly to students via personal devices.
We appreciate families working with us to support respectful, responsible, and safe device use at school. For more details, the full policy is available on our school website.
Friendly Reminders
School Traffic
Please help keep our school community safe and traffic flowing by:
- Following local traffic and parking rules near the kiss and drop zone (Murrays Hill Rd and Heath Lane).
- Avoiding stopping or waiting on Murrays Hill Rd or at the zone entrance, as this causes congestion.
- Moving through the zone if a short-term park isn’t available.
- Contacting the front office if you’re delayed beyond 3:30pm—your child will wait there after staff duty ends.
- Not entering the school grounds via the top gate near the water tank, as this area is not designated for pedestrian access.
Please note: Council rangers may visit at any time.
Canteen Lunch Orders – Absentee Reminder
If your child is unwell and won’t be attending school, please notify the office if you have placed a lunch order for that day. We’re happy to help – if we’re informed on the day, your child’s lunch order can be held over and used on another suitable day. However, if no notification is received, the canteen is not automatically aware of your child’s absence. The order will be prepared, and unfortunately, cannot be carried over to another day as the meal will already have been made and stock used. We appreciate your support in helping us reduce food waste and manage canteen resources effectively. Thank you! The Canteen Team
Reporting Absences
Please inform us if your child will be absent. You can report absences via:
- Our website: Report an Absentee
- Email: dl.1226.admin@schools.sa.edu.au
- Phone: 8270 4144
If your child is absent from school with no explanation, you will receive a text message from the school on the day of absence. Please respond promptly to this message so that we can update our student absence records for your child.
For absences that require an Exemption (Family Holiday, Ongoing Medical or other reasons that will extend beyond 3 days), please come in to the Front Office and pick up a “Principal Approved Application For Exemption From School” form.
Moving School in 2026?
To support our staff and class planning for 2026, should your child/ren be leaving Craigburn Primary School (aside from current Year 6s) to attend another school next year, please notify us via the front office. Thank you.
Change of Contact Details
To help us keep up to date with family and emergency contact details please contact the front office with any change of contact details.
Early Arrival
School grounds open for students at 8.30am, with classes commencing at 8.50am.
