Looking Into Your Sole

In their recent URSTRONG Friendology lesson, students in Mrs Khalaf and Mrs McMahon’s Year 3/4 class took part in an engaging activity titled “Looking Into Your Sole.”

Using plain canvas shoes as a creative base, students were asked to design a shoe that represented their personality, interests, and unique traits. The aim was to help students reflect on who they are as individuals and express this through colour, drawings, patterns, and symbols.

The activity encouraged students to think about what makes them them—whether it’s their love for sport, a passion for reading, a sense of humour, or a calm and caring nature. Each design became a meaningful expression of identity and self-awareness.

This task supported key Friendology goals such as self-awareness, identity, and appreciation of diversity. It also provided a fun and creative way for students to learn more about each other, sparking conversations and building deeper peer connections.

We invite you to take a look at the masterpieces created by the students in the front office Friendology display — a colourful and inspiring showcase of individuality, proudly on display outside the Year 3/4 classrooms.
