Welcome back to school for Term 4. We hope everyone enjoyed some quality family time over the holiday break and long weekend, and feeling rested and ready for the final term of the year.
Term 4 is always a busy and exciting time, and this term will be no different. We have many special events to look forward to, including: World Teachers’ Day, Craigburn Mini Market, Year 5 and 6 camps, Excursions, Gala Day, Transition programs for new Reception students and Year 6 students moving on to high school, Learner Achievement Assembly, Volunteers Morning Tea, Craigburn’s Got Talent, Gala Day, Celebration Night and Year 6 Graduation and more. Please take a moment to check the Term 4 planner (further below) for all of these important dates.
As we begin the final term, we also begin preparations for the 2026 school year. This includes planning class structures based on projected enrolments and finalising staffing arrangements. We’ll be providing more information about this as the term progresses, so please stay tuned.
We would like to give a special mention to our graduating Year 6 students and their families as they begin their final term in primary school. We hope it’s a memorable and rewarding time as they prepare to move on to the next stage of their schooling journey.
We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday.

Friendly Reminders
Supporting Kids Before Smartphones
Some Craigburn families have recently joined Wait Mate — a grassroots initiative launched in Australia in 2024 that’s encouraging families to think carefully about the right age for children to receive their first smartphone.
While phones can be useful, research highlights that getting a smartphone too early can affect children’s wellbeing — impacting self-esteem, learning, and exposing them to risks such as bullying and online harm.
As a community, we can support our children by:
- Delaying the age for first smartphones
- Considering simpler devices or watches to stay in touch
- Talking openly about safe and balanced technology use

Hats On!
Please ensure your child has a hat before they come to school every day. School hats are required for recess, lunch and other outdoor learning activities. School hats can be purchased through Qkr!, or at the front office.
Traffic and Parking
The local council has clear signage / road markings in relation to off-street parking. We respectfully ask families and friends to be extra mindful of adhering to the parking rules and regulations. This is in the best interest of safety for our students / families and local residents.
Planning for 2026
Planning is underway for the 2026 school year, which includes organising staffing, class structures and placements. To assist with our planning, we would appreciate it if you could advise us if your child(ren) will not continue their schooling at Craigburn next year. If this is the case, please contact the school via phone 8270 4144 or email dl.1226.admin@schools.sa.edu.au This does not include any current Year 6 students. Thank you.

Please inform us if your child will be absent. You can report absences via:
