Commissioner’s Digital Challenge 2025

This year Craigburn Primary School entered the Commissioner’s Digital Challenge for the fourth time.

Similar to the Premier’s Be Active Challenge and the Premier’s Reading Challenge, this challenge encourages our young people to engage in a variety of digital thinking tasks and is open to all South Australian students.

As part of this challenge our Reception to Year 2 students developed their early coding skills through one of our favourite coding apps, Kodable, as well as Scratch Jr. Some students also experimented with the BlueBots. The Year 3 – 6 students problem-solved their way through a range of digital challenges via platforms such as Grok Academy, Scratch, Makers Empire and code.org.

This year we entered all three competitions: Learn to Speak Robot, Zoom Out and Space to Dream.

We are very proud that we have once again been ‘highly commended’ in the Learn to Speak Robot and Zoom Out challenges, earning our school a digital prize!

Furthermore, Year 5 student Imogen B, had her Space to Dream entry, Kreative Keyboard, chosen by the Commissioner as one of only 19 ‘Top Rated’ designs! Imogen’s Makers Empire design will now be 3D printed and be placed on display in the Space to Dream Travelling Exhibition at the Australian Space Discovery Centre throughout December 2025 and January 2026. It will then travel to local libraries around South Australia in 2026.

Congratulations to all of our Craigburn students who participated in the 2025 Commissioner’s Digital Challenge and we look forward to expanding our digital technology skills in the Commissioner’s Digital Challenge again next year!
