“The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me” is a hilarious book with the best illustrations. The author is Roald Dahl, the illustrator is Quentin Blake and it is published by Puffin Books.

“The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me” is about a giraffe, a pelican and a monkey who start’s a window washing business which becomes a sweet shop called Grubber. They go to a beautiful palace to clean windows and they meet the owner who is very rich.

They help catch a thief who is trying to steal some jewels as a reward. The old man pays for Billy, the little boy who always wanted to own a sweet shop, to start buying sweets for the Grubber. He buys every sweet in the world to be shipped over and he also buys shelves, a till and a desk. At the end of the book Billy owns the best sweet shop in the world.

This is a very interesting book that made me keep on reading and reading. I recommend it to good readers because there are a lot of tricky words
