Books Light Up Our World
Book Week will be held from the 22nd to 28th August. 2015 is the 70th anniversary of Book Week. To help us celebrate, the Splash Theatre Company will perform the ‘Book Show’ for all classes from Reception to year 7 on Tuesday 11th August. Our annual book fair will be held in the library from the 26/8/15 to the 2/9/15. The theme for Book Week is “Books Light up our World”. 2015 has also been proclaimed as the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies. Its aim is to highlight the importance of light and optical technologies in people’s lives, their futures, and for the development of society. Click on the image below for resources on light and optics.
Books that have been short listed for Book Week are on display in the library along with the Children’s Book Week resource book.
PETAA has created curriculum-based classroom units of work, for shortlisted books in the six categories of the annual CBCA awards.
