SCHOOL SPORT

Craigburn Primary offers a range of sports that year 5-7 students can be involved with and are open to all range of abilities. Currently the school has cricket, basketball (starting in term 1) as well as soccer and netball teams (starting in term 2) these are a fantastic way for kids to become part of a team environment as well as learning new skills. We are also always looking for parents to join in and it is a wonderful way to be a part of your school community.

PEDAL PRIX

Pedal Prix is an exciting sport for students in year 6 and 7. Everyone is welcome and it is a great way to be involved in a team if ball sports aren’t really your thing, or to increase your fitness levels if they are. It is challenging, exciting, hard work and nerve wracking but also highly rewarding and mountains of fun for those who get involved. Registrations need to be done and dusted VERY EARLY in the year so please get in quickly to avoid disappointment.

SAPSASA

There are three levels of SAPSASA sport students may be involved with at Craigburn, School, District and State.

At school level we compete in Athletics Day, Swimming Carnival and Cross Country events organised by Mrs. Pettman. Craigburn is also involved in School Knockout sports depending on the availability of players. Preference in these teams is given to year 7 students and they must play either for the school or at club level. Trials may need to be held and final selections are made by the coach with input from Mrs. Pettman where required.

Craigburn is part of the Southern Heights District for SAPSASA events. Trials are held for selection of these teams for students from Craigburn, Flagstaff Hill, Aberfoyle Campus, Coromandel Valley, Blackwood, Eden Hills, Bellevue Heights, Clapham, Hawthorndene, Belair, St. John’s, St. Peter’s and Scotch College schools. Mrs Pettman (netball), Mr Lemmey (Football) and Mr Warncken (Soccer) are all heavily involved in Southern Heights sport so it is often easy to find out details from them as well as details about cricket, hockey and tennis carnivals from Mrs. Pettman.

SAPSASA State trials take part throughout the year. Please see Mrs Pettman for information about these trials or Mr Lemmey for details about football trials.
