Book Week 2015

Books Light Up Our World

Welcome to Book Week 2015.  Book Week has been celebrated for 75 years. It is time to celebrate the the work of Australian authors and illustrators. It is also a time to  share with others our favourite books, books that have lit up our world. It is a time to learn about new books and to revisit old favourites. This Year’s theme  is “Books Light up our World”. What does that mean to you?  Have you read all the nominated books? Which was your favourite book? To see who the winners were click on the link below. Enjoy reading.

Several special events have been planned for Book Week. On Wednesday Adam Cece, the author of “Wesley Booth Super Sleuth”, is visiting our school again and he will be talking to the year 3, 4 and 5 classes about writing and creating characters such as Wesley Booth. We also have our Book Fair beginning this week, running from Wednesday 26th to Tuesday 1st September. Books may be purchased between 8.30 and 8.50am and again after school from 3.10 to 4.00pm. Members of SLEG are organising a Book Week Parade to be held this Friday. They are looking forward to seeing you all coming to school dressed as your favourite book character.

I have three $15 book vouchers to be spent at the Book Fair to give away. Stay tuned to see how you can go in a draw to win.
