Present: All SRC reps from all the classes
Introduction:
- SLC welcomed all SRC reps
- SRC received their badges
- Each of the SRC reps introduced themselves
Discussion:
Role of the SRC is to
- represent classmates
- bring ideas to SRC to discuss
- elaborate on minutes that are posted on the Student Blog, the day after SRC meetings
- make a difference across the school leaving a footprint/legacy – that is carried on year after year- for example the munchie bins
Explanation of the action groups:
- Well-being: to create activities that help the people of our school community to feel happy and valued
- Environment: making a difference that has a positive impact on our environment- recycling, sustainability, eco friendly and etc
- Library: bringing new ideas to use our school the library.- Could students /SRC help out in the library/setup learning activities?
- Special Events: celebrating and acknowledging significant days of importance
Actions before next meeting
- Brainstorm and record ideas to make a difference in the areas of Well-being Environment, Library and Special Events
- Schedule in class meetings the day after SRC meeting and the day before SRC meetings
- Bring a folder or notebook that has a record of class ideas from meetings
Shared Ideas from classes
C15 – proposed could we consider:
- minimising the 5 minute bell to 3 minutes
- Colour run for a fundraiser
- Casual clothes day for a fundraiser
- Canteen opened up after school
- Choose what you want for a day- learning??
- Friendship benches to be installed around the school
Publicity and communication of SRC
- Minutes will be posted on the student Blog and the link will be in the daily notices
- Have classes read the summary of SLC report from term 2?
- SLC report is on the Student Blog
- A photo of all SRC reps and SLC reps will be taken in the library after the first whole school assembly
Reflection:
- Share one thing you are grateful for today
- Recapped on what has been discussed
- SLC will lead and open meeting with an Interoception activity
