Year 3/4 Matisse inspired art using organic shapes.

The year 3/4 students have been learning about Henri Matisse and how he invented the art of paper cut collage art. He created large mural size collages from cutting organic shapes from hand painted coloured paper.

Here are some Yr 3/4 Matisse inspired collage artwork.

Year 2 – ‘The Dot’ inspired artwork.

We read the story ‘The Dot’ by Peter H, Reynolds and then discussed that a line begins with a dot. The students were given a black dot and were asked to create a picture using the DOT.

Some amazing ideas drawn. Well done!

The students read the story ‘The Dot’ By Peter H. Reynolds. We then discussed that a line begins with a dot and focused on the element of line. The students then created their own DOTS.

Well done, they look great!!!!

Year 5/6 Room B8- Zentangle Sunflower – Inspired by the artist Georgia O’keeffe.

B8 learnt about the element of line and the Artist Georgia O’Keeffe. The students then created their own sunflowers focusing on different types of lines, and learnt to blend oil pastels for around the edge of the artwork.

They have turned out amazingly. Well done!!!!

Year 5/6 – line Zentangle artwork (Room B13)

B13 learnt about the element of Line. The focus was to create a zentangle landscape using many different types of lines. They then used oil pastels to colour and blend in the sky.

Year 1 – Paul Klee inspired art, focusing on the element of SHAPE.

The students learnt about the artist Paul Klee and read the story ‘The cat and the bird’ based on his own artwork of his pet cat.

The students then created their own version of ‘The bird and the Cat’ painting by Paul Klee.

They are wonderful, well done!

Reception -Texture Art – ‘Where the Wild things are’ inspired art.

The receptions focused on the element of ‘Texture’. We read the story ‘Where the wild things are’ then created our own friendly monsters, using crayon rubbings over different texture mats.

The students learnt about the element of line and drew a seascape using different types of lines, then a wash of paint.
