The Year 1’s learnt about colour theory and warm/cool colours. We focused on the Canadian Artist Ted Harrison and then made their own paintings inspired by his work. The students used warm colours for the sunset and cool colours for the water and hills.

What an interesting year we have had so far!
I want to share some amazing, inspiring artwork that the students have been creating so far this year.

The year 2 students have been learning about the Artist Paul Klee and how he used bright colours and geometric shapes to create his work. The students took great care in drawing their cities, then used oil pastels and paint to complete the composition.
WOW! So colourful and detailed. Well done 🙂
We read the story ‘The Dot’ by Peter H, Reynolds and then discussed that a line begins with a dot. The students were given a black dot and were asked to create a picture using the DOT.

Today you are going to learn about making 3D sculptures out of 2D flat paper/card.
Sculpture is 3 Dimensional art – it has height, length, depth. It takes up space and is not flat. You can see almost all sides of a sculpture, you can walk around and even sometimes under or through it and sometimes you can make it move.
Materials:
*coloured card or paper
*scissors
*glue
*Black or white card for the base
