Book Week Incursion- Super Duper

Hello Families,

We are all looking forward to the incursion tomorrow called “Super Duper” which will be located in the school hall. I have reminded students to bring in their favourite book to take with us to the performance.

Please note that that there are still a couple of families who still need to pay for the performance. Unfortunately students will have to attend another class if payment has not been made by tomorrow morning.

Don’t forget that the Book Week Parade is next Thursday 24th August at 9:15am in the school hall.

Kind regards

Kristen

Updates

Hello Families,

Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our assembly yesterday. It was wonderful to see so many faces in the audience. The children were very proud of themselves and did a fantastic job at speaking with the microphone (many were very nervous).

Just a quick reminder that the camp deposit of $30 was due on June 14th. There are still some outstanding payments. Thank you to the families who have paid already.

Please also note that Monday 3rd July (week 10) is a student free day. All staff are involved in some Professional Development with Mark Le Messurier who will be speaking to us about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD & ADD) and trauma-based behaviours. OSHC is available on this day if you require care for your children.

Enjoy this amazing Winter weather!

Birdwood Motor Museum

Dear Families,

We are all looking forward to our excursion to the Birdwood Motor Museum next Tuesday 30th May. Thank you to those families who have paid and brought in their consent forms.

At the moment we have two parent helpers to come with us on the day.  It would be fantastic if we could have just one more extra parent helper to also come with us. Please let me know if you are able to come along. Thank you.

Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time next Tuesday as the bus will be leaving the school at 9:00am sharp. We will arrive back to school on the bus before the 3:10pm dismissal bell.

A formal note will be given out at the end of the week which will include what your child needs to bring with them on the day of the excursion.

Kind regards

Kristen

NAPLAN 2017

Hello Families,

Welcome back to school! I hope you all had an enjoyable break from the routine of daily school life. The children were excited to come back and are refreshed for the term ahead.

As you all would know, next week the children will be participating in NAPLAN testing. We have been doing some practice so that everyone will be at ease next week.

Please note that the testing days are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. All tests start at 9am sharp. It would be very much appreciated that children arrive at school on time to avoid stress and panic in getting organised. Thank you.

If your child is away on any of the testing days they will be able to catch up the tests on Friday of next week.

Children not participating in NAPLAN will work in the library with leadership and another classroom teacher.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards

Kristen

Student Led Conferences

Dear Families,

Thank you for making the time to attend your child’s three way conference last week. This is an important part of our learning journey together as students, teachers and parents. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning experiences.

The students are now in the process of working towards their goals which were spoken about during the conferences.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me to further discuss your child’s learning journey.

Kind regards

Kristen
