The Ned Show
We had a whole school assembly today to see the Ned Show. Garry was from America and he talked to us about what it takes to be a champion at school and in life.
He was very funny and he was very clever at using a yoyo.
Here are some comments from the children in Room 4:
He did a really good tissue trick- Ethan
Garry showed us the flag trick – Hannah
In the Ned name there is caring and stuff – Tamika
Garry was amazing and very clever. He did the Eiffel Tower – Libby
We know how to be champions – Lucy
It was funny when he rocked the baby – Will
NED encourages everyone to be the best that they can.
We are wearing our “Champion” crowns to show that we know how to be the best people we can.
Very windy!!
Another beautiful day in paradise.
Today is a fantastic day for surfing. The waves are huge! There are lots of people out on their surfboards and long boards. We went for another long walk and guess what, that Bush Turkey was still shifting leaves. He must be very tired by now!
Here is a short movie of the great waves that were on the Gold Coast this morning.

The busiest bird in the bush!
Watch this video to see why we called him “busy”.

This very busy creature is called a Bush Turkey. The bird in the movie is the male and he is collecting leaves and sticks for the females nest. He scrapes and scrapes all day long so that the leaves are in a huge pile. When the females lays her eggs they are kept warm from the leaf litter. He moves such a lot of stuff in one day. I am sure he must sleep well every night!
Have you seen any interesting things on your holidays? Please tell me what you have been doing.
Where am I?
I am standing in 2 different states at the same time.
I am at the b_ _ _ _ _ _ of Queensland and New South Wales.
Did you know Captain Cook sailed passed here? Lots of whales are passing here now too.
Mrs. K's holiday
Hi there, I am in sunny Queensland on the Gold Coast. The weather has been beautiful with lots of sunshine. Can you believe that people are wearing shorts and t-shirts? When we left Adelaide it was about 12 degrees and yesterday it was 21 up here. Maybe that’s why it’s called the Gold Coast. Lots of golden sand, golden sunshine and golden weather. Yesterday we saw some whales frolicking in the ocean. There were lots of surfers catching waves on their surfboards. I’ve been doing lots of shopping!!!!! These photos show you where I’m staying.
More things to do in the holidays.
Practise your keyboard skills
I thought you might like to practise some of your keyboard skills over the holidays. Dance Mat Typing is a great place to practise. It teaches you where to put your fingers and before you know it you will be able to touch type without looking at your fingers! Have a go at the first level and then see how far you can go. Mrs.K
Have you had a go? Are you better at typing? Can you type some letters without looking ? (I can’t!)
