Maths-Time

We have been learning about time. We had to make our own clocks. Some of us had a little trouble getting our numbers into the right spot!

We have investigated o’clock and 1/2 past times as anologue and digital. We set little clocks to these times. Here we are showing the times we set on our clocks.

We sat with a partner and asked them to set their clocks to a specific time. We were able to help our friends if they needed it.

Mrs. Kolenberg found these fun songs on You Tube that helped us learn about time.

  1. Again you all surprise me at how well your clocks look, well done everyone. Now just a bit of practise and you will all be experts in telling the time.

  2. Wow all your clocks look amazing! If only we could freeze time like your clocks can! The Hip Hop song is cool! Well done with such great work keep it up!

  3. Wow Room 4 children, your clocks look fantastic.
Do you know this clock song?
    “Hickory Dickory Dock
The mouse ran up the clock
The clock struck 1, the mouse ran down
    Hickory Dickory Dock.”
I learnt that song when I was in primary school – wow that was a long time ago! Keep learning your clock times and you’ll all be able to wear a watch to tell the time.

  4. I have learnt that 1 o’clock on a 12 hour analogue clock is the same as 13:00 on a 24 hour digital clock. This means it is 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
I had fun making my clock at school. From Sienna

  5. When I was a kid we used to play the song “Rock around the Clock”. These songs are great. Its so much fun to learn to music.

  6. Hi Room 4. You’ve done a great job making your clocks. Well done! Sometimes telling the time can be a bit tricky, can’t it? I’m going to show some of our teachers these videos to share with their students. Thanks.
