Today we very fortunate to have a remarkable person visit us at Craigburn. His name is Lorin Nicholson.
- Lorin is Australia’s pre-eminent youth motivational speaker and one of the nations leading guitarists.
- He has a large focus on optimism and resilience
- Despite being legally blind since birth, he is one of the country’s most successful independent recording artists and has been a finalist in the Australian Country Music Awards, being runner-up to the legendary Tommy Emmanuel.
- In 2009, Lorin was also a nominee for Australian of the year and later went on to win a Queensland community service award for his outstanding contribution to the community.
- Lorin has also just recently achieved the seemingly impossible, as he along with brother Dean created Australian history, by becoming the first blind persons to ride pushbikes over 4100 kilometres across Australia from Perth to Sydney.
- – Over the past eight years, Lorin Nicholson‘s inspiring school performance, called SEE SHARP has been presented in over 1000 schools throughout Australia, New Zealand and the USA, to over half a million people and has received rave reviews from around the globe, including three awards for Excellence from the New South Wales Education Department.
- Lorin incorporates his amazing guitar work and extraordinary life experiences into his award-winning “SEE SHARP” presentation which addresses such issues as:

What a wonderful performance he gave us. It was all about never giving up and believing in youself. He talked to us about the importance of friends and including others. He told us about his life and the remarkable things he has done. We loved the assembly. Thank you so much Lorin for coming to Craigburn Primary School.

Lorin is such an inspirational person! It just goes to show that no matter how tough things may seem, success and happiness, and achieving grand things is possible! You just have to persevere and show great courage!
That sounds like a very inspiring presentation, Room 4. I remember meeting and hearing a presentation by a musician called Evelyn Glennie several years ago. She is deaf but this does not stop her from being a fantastic musician.

We think that the koala is cool and funny. But why doesn’t the little koala move? We think it’s funny when we move the mouse the koala’s head and eye’s move with the move’s with the mouse. And we like it how the koala talks.
I loved hearing about Lorin’s visit. He sure does sound like an inspirational person and a very talented musician! What a great visitor to have come to Craigburn.
