A Week Of Swimming

As part of our Health and Physical Education program, the children are encouraged to attend a week of swimming at our local centre. This year we went to the newly completed Marion Swimming Centre where the recent trials for the Olympics were held. Our lessons were 45 minutes long and all children whether competent swimmers or not were given the opportunity to gain extra skills and learn very important strategies when in water. All children were taught what to do when in danger and how to grab onto ropes or floats when needing to be pulled out of the water. The instructors all did a fantastic job and the children thoroughly enjoyed their lessons and were challenged and encouraged the whole time.

Please watch the slideshow of our time at the pool and see all the great things the children did.

Here is a movie of our last day at the pool. We had such a fun time!

  1. Dear Mrs. K’s Class, Trista, Marcus, and Eric from our class took swimming lessons too. We wish we could have swimming lessons with our class. Did the lessons help you improve your swimming? You are very lucky to have such a great pool near your school.

  2. what a great movie. I loved it. Well done Mrs K and thank you for putting all your time and effort in to giving us something we can watch over and over again. Just brilliant. Everyone looked liked they were having so much fun in the water I wish I could of joined you all in the water.

  3. I enjoyed the whole week going to the pool each day, but I really really liked Friday as we had time for free play. The slide was lots of fun! Thank-you Mts Kolenberg for taking us to the pool, and also for taking the video 🙂

  4. Guten Tag,
Wow, it looks like you had a wonderful week! I’ll bet the new swimming centre was a lot of fun to visit. It’s great that you have learnt new skills to keep yourselves safe in the water as well, that is very important.
    Auf wiedersehen,
