Week 4 and 5 with Miss Tonkin

Well, this is my third week at Craigburn Primary and I am loving it.  What a fantastic beginning to my teaching career!  We have been extremely busy with various activities involving the whole school – Craigburn’s Got Talent, Halloween, Gala Day, and Music is Fun.  It gives the children a wonderful opportunity to involve themselves creatively with their peers, utilise life skills outside of the classroom, whilst celebrating local events.

It has been wonderful getting to know the Year 1 students and parents of room 4.   I have appreciated the support from all the staff within the school – in particular my team teacher Ms Cave.  Everyone has been welcoming and friendly, thank you!

It was very exciting being able to share Ms Cave’s Canadian Halloween celebrations at the end of October.  Take a look at our Halloween photos; we had some very interesting characters turn up to class!

Below are some ‘happy snaps’ which capture some of the highlights from Room 4 over the last couple of weeks.  My next update will cover Sports Expo and more learning in the classroom.

  1. Hello Miss Tonkin and welcome to room 4. You have joined the class in the most exciting and busy term. It looks like you are enjoying it too. I love the pictures especially the halloween ones you all looked very scary. I hope you are looking forward to more exciting things to do with Miss Tonkin because I am. Have fun everyone and keep up the great work because you are all fantastic…..

  2. Hello Miss Tonkin and room 4. You all look as though you have been very busy! The photos that Miss Tonkin has put on the blog are fantastic. I love Gala Day because there are always so many great things to buy. Did you all enjoy Music is Fun? Those people that had to perform were you excited? What fun you must have had on Halloween. Your costumes look terrific! Have we had any more baby hopping mice? I am having a nice time on my holiday. Today we has some thunder and lightning but it was quite warm. I miss you all. Take care of Miss Tonkin.
