Painting

On the first day of school we coloured in our names with crayon. Today we painted over them with bright paints. While some of us were painting the rest of the class was busy doing their work. Mrs. Kolenberg will laminate our paintings and put them in our room for the rest of the year. Do you like them? Have you got paintings in your room?

  1. Mrs K’s class, these names look wonderful! So colourful and bright! Any ideas why the paint did not stay on top of the crayon bit?

    • Yes they do look very colourful don’t they? When we had finished painting our pictures we used a damp cloth to wipe it over the letters and then the paint didn’t stick. This was one of the helper Mums idea and it worked really well. When we laminate them, the colours become so much brighter.

  2. You have all done such a fantastic job on your name paintings – I love how colourful they are! I’m sure you will be very proud to have them on display in your classroom. I will have to come and see them when I come and visit you.

  3. Thank you Mrs K’s class for another fabulous idea – your paintings are so effective. They will be lovely for visitors to your room to look at.
I think I will get the Woodpeckers to have a go at this idea when we make our great fire of London pictures. We could make the flames with the wax crayons and paint the night sky over the top. How many other ideas could we think of for this technique?

  4. Hi Leanne, Great that you are blogging the classes activities. Chloe was very excited to tell me. We spent time together reading the blog on the weekend.

  5. Hi Room 4
Your names look so bright and colourful I love the colours you have each chosen to use. They must look fantastic decorating your classroom wall. I’m looking forward to reading more of your blog posts.
