It’s that time of year when fun Christmas activities are in full swing. Last night Craigburn Primary School had its Celebration Night. All the school community was invited to watch the classes present many great dance items. It was a little chilly and the rain threatened but it was a fantastic night. The classes did an amazing job. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the year.
We performed with Mrs. Nelson and Miss Harry’s classes. Our item called “Every day is a party” was great fun to sing and perform. The children looked very colourful in their Christmas clothes and tinsel.
They did an amazing job at singing and performing. Please visit TUMBLR to watch the dance.
Well done to all the children!
We have had a very busy year working alongside our Room 3, Year One friends. Year One has been fun and fulfilling. We look forward to continuing our life’s journeys as confident learners.
We hope you enjoy watching a collection of photos showing the highlights of our 2011, Year One journey!

At Craigburn the Junior Primary children spent the day having a go at lots of different sports. It was a wonderful day. We got to try these sports: Little Athletics, Baseball, Golf, Korfball, Tennis, Taekwondo, Zumba, Wheelchair Sport and Earth Ball. We tried everything and it didn’t matter if we were good at it or not. The most important thing was that we all had a go.
We all had a great day! The weather was beautiful and everyone participated enthusiastically.
Room 4 would like to thank all the instructors for their wonderful effort today. We really appreciate you coming to our school and sharing your knowledge with us.

We had the best day on Wednesday!
It was the culmination of our Unit of Inquiry into “planning a trip”. After watching great presentations by the children and then voting, we chose to go to The Toy Factory at Gumeracha and Melba’s Chocolate Factory. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the children’s hard work! Everyone was so well behaved and learnt a lot about the toys that are made at Gumeracha. Graham the ‘toy elf’ showed us through his workshop and expained how he made all the fantastic toys for children.
Many thanks to the mums who helped us out on the day. Were you as tired as I was at the end of the day?!
Have a look at the photos to get an idea of what we did.You can see we had lots of fun!
Please look at our TUMBLR. to see 2 short clips of our day.

We enjoyed watching the Music Is Fun performance. It was amazing! We were lucky enough to have an opportunity wear animal masks and perform a song called Man Gave Names To All The Animals .
Here we are wearing our masks.
You can see our performance on the tumblr posts.

On Friday it was 11-11-11. This is a very significant day to everyone. It is Remembrance Day. At Craigburn Primary School we had special assembly.
Everyone paused for one minute of silence while The Last Post was played.
If you would like to see a wonderful slideshow that was presented at the assembly visit Mrs. Nelson’s blog.
We also had Gala Day on Friday and what a great time everyone had. The older students had spent hours of their time preparing stalls of many different kinds. The Junior Primary students had an opportunity to visit the stalls after recess and there were so many to see! Lots of bargains were bought and what wonderful food was on sale! You could even get your face painted or nails polished! Many, many thanks to those students were involved. Your hard work helped to make Gala Day a wonderful success!

Today we had a special day to raise money for The Little Heroes Foundation.
We had a Marathon Day by running lots of laps around the school oval. The money we raise will be going toward the purchase of a new MRI machine for the hospital and supporting the children who need to use it. Some of us dressed up as heroes and the photo is below.
Here are some photos of us running around the oval.
Visit TUMBLR. to see a movie of us running.
We had a sausage sizzle on the oval to celebrate.
The children in Room 4 have produced some beautiful portraits of their fathers. Please watch and listen below to see our portraits, and hear our messages to our fathers. We hope you enjoy viewing our efforts!
